Hi everyone!
Could anyone tell me what could cause producing of such periodical messages: (?)
Mar 8 15:01:08 10.20.191.253 159424: ASR9k-2 LC/0/1/CPU0:Mar 8 15:01:08.600 : inv_agent[202]: %PLATFORM-INV_AGENT-6-IF_OIRIN : xFP OIR: GigabitEthernet0/1/CPU0/11 is inserted, state: 1
Mar 8 15:01:18 10.20.191.253 159425: ASR9k-2 LC/0/1/CPU0:Mar 8 15:01:18.582 : inv_agent[202]: %PLATFORM-INV_AGENT-6-IF_OIRIN : xFP OIR: GigabitEthernet0/1/CPU0/11 is inserted, state: 1
Mar 8 15:01:28 10.20.191.253 159426: ASR9k-2 LC/0/1/CPU0:Mar 8 15:01:28.584 : inv_agent[202]: %PLATFORM-INV_AGENT-6-IF_OIRIN : xFP OIR: GigabitEthernet0/1/CPU0/11 is inserted, state: 1
As You can see, message is sent to syslog every 10th second only for one specific interface. All debuging is turned off.

Thank You in advance!

you may yet re-seat the whole LC in the chassis to make sure it is well connected.
otherwise yes, if still keep seeing OIR messages on the LC without XFPs that coud be faulty LC.

Alex.

Hello Marks,
- Make sure the FPD is upgraded on the ASR using "admin show hw-module fpd loc all"
- Re-seat the SFP in the LC to confirm it is firmly seated and has a good connection to the LC.
- Put another SFP into the same port to verify if that is an SFP issue.
- move current SFP to another port to verify if that is a LC port problem.
Regards,
/A

Hello Alexei,
Thank You for Your reply!
The "admin show hw-module fpd loc all" command shows that there is no need for upgrade.
In case, when SFP is removed from the port, another message is thrown repeatedly:
Mar 7 11:14:17 10.20.191.253 149322: ASR9k-2 LC/0/1/CPU0:Mar 7 11:14:17.153 : inv_agent[202]: %PLATFORM-INV_AGENT-6-IF_OIROUT : xFP OIR: GigabitEthernet0/1/CPU0/11 is removed, state: 0

Any ideas why? Could it mean that port is faulty?
