IOS-XR eBGP confederation require RPL default policy?

Hi community,

I've tested in the lab configuring eBGP confederation peers without the need to configure RPL to explicity permit the prefixes require to receive/advertise just as "true" eBGP neighbors.

I just can't find documentation or any reference that says that a default RPL policy is just needed for "true" eBGP neighbors and not for eBGP confederation peers.

If anybody can share any reference to this, I appreciate it.

Thank you,

Fede.

Hello Fede,

I think this is the document you are looking for regarding eBGP:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r4-2/routing/configuration/guide/b_routing_cg42asr9k/b_routing_cg42asr9k_chapter_00.html#con_1197962

Configuring RPL with BGP confederation is not a required step (implicitly made)

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r4-2/routing/configuration/guide/b_routing_cg42asr9k/b_routing_cg42asr9k_chapter_00.html#task_1212281

Hope this helps.
