Hi,

When I try to update NCS, I get the following errors:

I tried to do it according to the instructions below

Procedure
Step 1

Copy the ISO (or GISO) image to the /harddisk: location on the router.

Step 2

Upgrade the system to replace the current software with the .iso image.

Example:
Router#install package replace /harddisk:/ncs540l-x64-x.x.x.iso
Step 3

Activate the new .iso image on the router by applying the changes.

Example:
Router#install apply {reload | restart} [noprompt]
Note

You can use a single command to perform both the packaging operation and activating the applying the changes using install replace /harddisk:/ncs540l-x64-x.x.x.iso noprompt command.

Current software: Cisco IOS XR Software, Version 7.2.2 LNT

from 722 >> 7721 is not supported. i have attached the document

there was a change in the kernel, this is potentially why you are seeing this error.

Unfortunately, when I tried to install an intermediate version (7.4.2), the effect is the same.

I have attached 742 upgrade guide, it does not look like 722 > 742 is supported
will need to go from 722 to 7.3.x then to 7.4.x
instead of doing multiple jumps is it possible to do a usb boot? you can download usb boot file extract to a usb and boot the router to 772 directly
