Hello,
I have NCS5501 that I get the PCIE Uncorrectable Fatal Error/Surprise Link Down Error on Tomahawk LC. I am trying to look it up to gain a better understanding of what this is. Anyone ever seen this before? Can you clarify what it is referencing?
Thanks!!
Dean
I did find a bug with this information. Not sure if it is related to my gear but it raises a flag.

the alarm is cosmetic, it cannot be manually cleared. you can reload to try and clear it
best option is to upgrade the router with the fix of this bug to prevent it from occuring
thank you

Good day,
please review this bug; https://bst.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCwf26437
Tomahawk refers to an ASIC on the asr9000 series line cards;
Thank you

So I am not sure where I got the tomahawk wording from. That is not in my logging. But yes...what you sent covers the alarm.
Interesting thing is that I can pull the fuses (power cycle) the router, the router comes back up and I do not have this alarm.
***** The biggest thing is the LED indicators. With this alarm I have a blinking red status led and a blinking amber alarm led.
Is there a way I can clear out the alarm? It does not appear to be service affecting.

Only when I issue the reload command is when I deal with this alarm.

Power slicing enabled on the LC?

Hi Hemant,
I am not sure what Power slicing is. Please elaborate on that.
Thanks

We had a PCIE error some time back due to power slicing. Power slicing is about shutting down a few NPs to save power on the line card.
