Hello everyone,
In the ASR 9000, what is the difference between the service edge optimized cards and the packet transport cards?
It is true that QoS is the difference in general, for example, service edge optimization has advanced QoS features while packet transport has basic QoS features, but I want to know more details.
I appreciate it.

With the SE LC you can terminate PPPoE and IPoE sessions (BNG). With TR it is possible to do it as well, but a hard limit of sessions. Cisco doesn't support it officially but I have it running for a customer with a few hundred sessions.
SE has support for PWHE and there is probably a bunch of other features that requires the SE LC. The config guide will tell you that, or it should at least. I know that this is true for BNG.
