Hello all,
we are planning an upgrade of our ASR9910 to new 64bit system. IN release notes there is a mention of bridge SMU CSCvw57276 required for this upgrade path. But there is a note that it is applicable for 64-bit systems.
he following table outlines the SMUs that must be installed for upgrade and downgrade procedure.
Table 1: Mandatory SMUs
Release | Mandatory/Optional SMUs |
Upgrade SMUs | |
R6.6.3 | CSCvw57276 |
R7.0.x | CSCvw57276 |
R7.1.15 | CSCvw57276 |
R7.1.2 | N/A |
R7.1.3 | N/A |
R7.3.1 | N/A |
* Above table applicable only to 64-bit IOS-XR
My question is, if my upgrade path is from 32bit 6.6.3 to 64bit 7.5.2, do I really need this SMU? I think the SMU is intended only for 64bit systems as the file name is asr9k-x64-6.6.3.CSCvw57276.ta/asr9k-sysadmin-6.6.3.CSCvw57276.tarr and I won't be able to install it on 32bit system. Can someone confirm my thoughts ? Thank you.

Hi,
as you stated this smu is only needed for the upgrade via install commands.
if you are doing the cXR to eXR migration you do not need these smu's
thanks
