We have experienced this twice now in the company with two different users using iPhone 6 Plus on different carriers and on the latest iOS (9.3.1) running Cisco Jabber iOS 11.5.3.233111
All of a sudden when the user tries connecting to Jabber (internal or through Expressway) the phone will get stuck on loading contacts. The circle keeps spinning and never stops / crashes.
The only solution we've found so far is to uninstall the application, reboot the phone, re-install from App Store. Doing anything else has not fixed the problem for us.
Has anyone experienced this? Is this just a bad release of Jabber for iOS?
Thanks

We have the same problem in iphone 6s+ with jabber 11.5.3. in ios 9.3.1 or ios 8.4.1.
The problem will repeat occur around 24~30 hours after reboot.
It is a big bother for our users.

Hi Jakub,
According to the release notes
In the phone-only mode, if there are more than 2000 contacts in the native address book, then there may be performance issues when loading the native address book.
Hope that helps
Thanks

I've relayed this to those affected. It may very well be the cause. These are persons with large address books

I would suggest that you open a TAC case then. You could be running into a new bug. Ha this happen with previous version of Jabber for iPhone?

Both users have gotten back to me
1 has less than 1000 contacts
1 has more than 2000 contacts
Both experience the same issue

I know this is an older thread but its exactly what's going on with 3 of my users right now. Anyone have a fix they applied? The only way to get it running is to uninstall then install it back again. They have to do this process every morning to get Jabber to login otherwise its just spins on the loading contacts page.
Things were fine last week and now this week its bugged.

Hi there
This is now a documented bug.
https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCwb18168
Jabber for IOS not loading contacts on startup
CSCwb18168
Workaround: Delete, then re-install Jabber. This is a temporary workaround as the application will fail on Loading Contacts soon after.
Hope this Helps
Cheers
Rath!
