Hi All,
Can we have the back up LAN enabled(for the backup of the server data) on the CVP servers(Call Server/VXML and Media server)? What is Cisco's recommendation?

Shouldn't be a problem, but honestly it's not going to win you much. There really isn't much to CVP servers, except maybe the prompts. As the configuration is in the OPS Console.

Hi David,
Thanks for the reply.
Recenty we had an issue where call server registerd with the Gatekeeper with its back up LAN IP address. So can we disable the back up LAN on the CVP servers? is there any Csico's document whcih specifies the number of LAN conncetions on CVP servers?

If you have the binding order correct, with this back up LAN NIC second, it should not do that.
I agree with David. No real reason to back up a CVP server, although some organizations will back them up - but would you ever restore from the backup?.
You would need the prompts saved somewhere, if it's also a Media Store. And if you have CVP VXML apps deployed, you want your Studio backed up so you can redeploy. You want to save the config (export) on the OPS console. You need the licence files too.
If a CVP server breaks, it's probably easiest to build a new one than restore from a backup.

Hi Geoff,
Eventhough we had the proper binding order for the back up LAN(Second), it got registerd with the gatekeeper. Not sure the reason.
Anyways thanks for the detail explanation!
