Hi all,
in a cvp comprehensive deployment, when the primary DNS server is taken down, the call hangs on the send to vru node.
what is noticed:
the call does not disconnect and the counters of the script while in monitoring mode increase continuously.
when the primary DC is taken back online the call go through the send to vru node.
CUPs are used in this deployment. the VRU label is configured to be sent to the originator. meaning that cups is not involved in label routing.
Anyone encountered this phenomenon before?
Thanks in advance,
regards.

I have seen issues in CUPS with it trying to do DNS resolution that caused delay on every call.
Make sure you don't have your CUPS configured too specifically with respect to the ICM Domain and DNS.

Hi Geoff,
How long was the delay? the label is indeed received on the vxml gateway. But the call is not passing the"send to VRU" node.
i will try to remove SIP server dns name from gateway, use IP instead on dialpeer and retry.
what do you mean by " too specifically "?
