Hi,
For the purposes of a lab is it possible to install CCX8 on VMware Workstation? Mine keeps failing

No because the UCCX installation check for the HW requirements (see below).

What hardware specs are you giving your VM? I believe you need 72gb
hard drive space and 2gigs of ram else it will fail a platform check.

Yes it will work. The specs provided by others are necessary if you're going to use it in a production environment (UC on UCS), but for a lab, the setup
below will work:
2 GB RAM
2 x 80 GB SCSI HD at 0:0 and 0:1
2 CPU
You MUST reset the SCSI BUS type to LSILogic (default is BUSLOGIC...this will cause the install to fail).
Load it as a 32 bit Red Hat Linux version.
Mine is on VMWare Server, but the same setup should work. Screen shot of my working lab box attached.

Changes in the VMware as in the attachment worked, UCCX 8.5 is installing...

Have you just tried using the VM (OVA) template that is provided from the CCO site?
