Cisco UCCE Migration Planning from 9.1 to 11.5

Hi,

We are planning to migrate our Enterprise Cisco UCCE environment ( ICM, Finesse, CUIC and other), we actually want to remove the existing hardware which is on lease and planning to host these environment on new hardware.

Before we actually migrating the agents from old UCCE environment to new one, we are planning to test the new environment with all features and then migrate the users to new system. To setup this scenario what is the best approach which wont disturb production environment and with the help of parallel infrastructure we can test the features and if everything working fine then we actually migrate the agents.

Can you please help me to find a tool or procedure like PCD ( Prime Collaboration Deployment ) for CUCM to migrate or upgrade the cluster, in UCCE migration.

Thanks,

Nagesh

AFAIK, there is no tool like PCD to do migration, however you can use EDMT to migrate your UCCE database to 11.5. Since you are on UCCE 9.1 , you will need a two step approach. Use EDMT to migrate your database from 9.1 to 10.5 and then from 10.5 to 11.5

You can dowloand EDMT from cisco cco..

+5 for Deji for correct pointers.

When planning UCCE migration there are many factors to consider, among them is will the hardware need to be replaced, will ESXi need to be upgraded, will OS and SQL need to be upgraded on ICM and CVP nodes (which by the way they do when going from 9.X to 11.5), considerations for all of the 3rd party integrations, CUCM compatibility, agent desktop migration (Finesse, CTI OS, CAD), reporting migration, etc.  I suggest reviewing UCCE and CVP upgrade guides and release notes and coming up with your details plan. Planning in these types of migrations is 90% of the success.
