Determine if inbound call is landline or mobile - IVR deflect

Hello, we are looking to introduce IVR deflect into our contact center environment and one question that came up was if we have a way to determine if the caller originated from a landline or mobile device so that we can decide if the call will be allowed or prompted for devlection via SMS.

Is there anything in the sip messaging we can look for and pass on to the contact center scirpt to decide how we are going to treat the call?  We are using PCCE 12.6 2k deployment currently.

There are API which you can use to get information about the phone number. Plivo, Twilio, NumVerify are probably the most popular. You know I've never actually check if there is any header information that would show originating provider, take a capture and see if you find anything there. However, neither of these methods is 100% fool proof. People port numbers in and out all the time causing data issue. It's best to just ask the caller if they want SMS deflection, which by the way is generally a terrible idea. Most people called you for a reason.
