All,
I'm getting thrown to the wolves to do a software upgrade on Express from 8.x to the latest version. Can someone send me a link or let me know of any gotchas? I am assuming at this point it is a standard upgrade done under the OS Administration like CallManager. Is this a correct assumption?
Thanks in advance. All replies rated.

You ask for gotchas but don't give us specific from and to versions. So, with generic information you'll get a generic answer: Yep, it's just a L2 upgrade that you kick off through OS Admin. Be sure that the upgraded version supports your CUCM version in the Compability Matrix. Always read the release notes and run a backup before lifting a finger.

In addition anticipate CAD client upgrade (depending on which version to which you are upgrading) so alert the agents of possible upgrade process when they come to work after the work, or plan the CAD upgrade push if desired.
Just an FYI latest verison is 8.5.1SU3 which has few minor issues but proves to be a lot more stable than all previous 8.5 releases.

Hi Angel,
The UCCX latest version at this moment is 8.5. Refer the below guide for upgrading it to the 8.5 version.
There is a UCCX 8.5 SU3 available at this moment for the latest SU on 8.5. Refer the below links for more information.

I guess I did indeed ask a generic question. Current version is 8.0.2.11005-20 and the need is to go to the latest version 8.5.1SU3. I forgot all about the CAD.

Hi Angel,
To find out the supported upgrade paths, refer to the compatibility matrix at the below link and look at the section, "Supported Unified CCX IP IVR Upgrade Paths1" on Page 74. It'll tell you what all versions are compatible to upgrade to 8.5.1 Su3.
Also, to upgrade the CAD machines to the latest version, CAD Machines should have Admin rights. Reason being, during this process, the Registry settings are updated with the new version.
