Solved: File Permission on DESKTOP_CFG share drive

According to the cisco document, DESKTOP_CFG folder will be shared as full right with the IPCCuser account. Can I share the DESKTOP_CFG as READ-ONLY (i.e. uncheck the Allow box in "Write Permission")? It is because I want to prevent users will manually delete files in this DESKTOP_CFG.

What operations/process required DESKTOP_CFG write permission?

You can change the location to which recording files are saved by making a

change in the registry.

To change the location of recording files:

1. On the Recording and Statistics server, open the registry editor.

2. Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Spanlink\Fastcall Rascal

Server\Setup

3. Add a new registry key named Audio Directory.

4. Modify the value to be a UNC path or local path to the location where you

want the recordings to be saved. This is the fully-qualified path.

NOTE: If the path is a local path, supervisors may not be able to listen to

recordings.

5. Close the registry editor, and then restart the Recording and Statistics

server.

Unfortunately it needs Read/Write permissions to this folder to work. IPCC 4.0 coming soon no longer relies on this mapped drive for user logins :)

Basically, it "checks" out a license in this folder and edits files in that folder.

Is it possible to change the location of Recorded Files (DESKTOP_CFG\Audiofiles) ? because it may contain sensitive conversations. These files are recorded by "Call-Record" Function of Supervisor Desktop.

I feel that sharing DESKTOP_CFG is not secure and not safe.
