We are looking to deploy call studio and have a couple of questions
Does the Pcce need to be always connected, powered up for icm to use it since we are looking to deploy it on a laptop.
We are looking to deploy it on a standard laptop and a server
Thanks

Hi,
Cisco Unified Call Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) for voice self-service applications which allows you to build sophisticated speech-enabled telephone self-service. By harnessing the power of VoiceXML (Voice Extensible Markup Language) and built-in compatibility with Cisco Universal Gateway and non-Cisco interactive voice response (IVR) systems.
You can find CVP call studio software under : CVP software – CallStudio-Installer_Windows-setup.exe.
Supported Hardware : 4GB+ RAM required
Operating System : Windows Compatible (Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 8)
CVP call studio will support only above mentioned operating system and By default trail version will support only 30 days.
After 30 days call studio trail period will expired. Permanent license can buy from Cisco using Physical MAC address.
Cisco PCCE and UCCE Production environment will support only Windows server operating systems with VM’s. For LAB you can build using virtual platform software on your laptop.
Thanks,
Ram.S

No. You use Call Studio to build the application then deploy the XML files to the server. CVP Studio is out of the picture until you need to make some enhancements and redeploy.
You can make minor changes to the XML files on the server and call "updateApp" if you like. Some changes are obvious - others are harder and you really need to go back to Studio. But they are decoupled.

Geoff

IPTUser55, one other thing to keep in mind, as basic as it sounds, is to make sure you take backups of whatever Call Studio applications/workspace you create, no matter how basic. You would be surprised how often you encounter people who don't consider that and have risked or lost all of their source code. While you can try and reverse engineer it (literally) from what is on CVP/VXML, but it is so worth it to have an offbox backup since it is very easy to do. Just my $.02.
