Preview mode for outbound dialer - who makes the call?

Outbound Dialer UCCE Ver10.5

In preview mode, is it the dialer application making the outbound call to the GW or is it the agents phone via CUCM that is initiating the call?

Meaning Agent phone via Agent PG, correct?

In Preview - Dialer is sending an SIP invite to the gateway, so Dialer is placing that call.
In Direct Preview - Agent phone makes the call.

Guess I should determine what preview mode I'm in and the difference, Preview versus Direct Preview, thanks.
