Uccx 10.6 with finesse and Dns/domain

Hi guys,

i understand dns/domain is mandatory for uccx. But my scenario is this. Uccx will be installed (for examlpe) with domain abc.com and dns 1.1.1.1.  But customer lives in a different domain xyz.com and Dns 2.2.2.2.  Thst means none of their PC or srvers will resolve the uccx.abc.com fqdn.  Can the customer access finesse desktop/supervisor or any uccx stuff just using the Ip address of uccx.? (IP communication will the there for sure) Will their be any issues?

They dont have any email queues or chat with socialminer today. Do you see any issue if socialminor going with abc.com later in the future.?

Any implication you can think of using this scenario. They are reluctant to use their domain or dns at this point.

Thanks a bunch

Yes by doing a small step, just go to xyz.com (2.2.2.2) DNS and add the UCCX ip there as a dns A-record and then the users will be able to resolve the name to IP.

However, if both domains are trusted to each other there should be a replication between them, if not then you have to add the A-records manually to the DNS of the second Domain.

First of all, even if the agents will try to login into Finesse Desktop using IP Address, it will automatically be redirected to the FQDN which means DNS resolution is mandatory. Now coming to the part how we can work around is by following one of below approach:

1) Edit the hosts file for the agents PC in below location and add the entry of your UCCX server IP and FQDN there

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

2) More or less same thing as Amer suggested that create the A-records for your UCCX server on 2.2.2.2 DNS server but under the abc.com domain name as UCCX will understand that only
