UCCX 8 Codec Change

Team - if one needs to change the codec from G711 to G729 in high availability is that a simple change in the system parameters on each server? Should one convert the prompts also and if so what is the best tool? Are there any restarts resets of cti ports needed in this process? If we change the gateways to a G729 region/device pool and the CTI ports remain in G711 region/device pool does that call for any hardware resources for region to region transcoding? Thank you.

Hi,

You can change the codec on the system parameters from G.711 toG.729. But once you change the codec on the service parameters, it is required to reboot the server for the service parameters to take effect.

If you are planning for LAN to WAN migration in UCCX HA deployment, below is the document reference for you.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/installation/guide/uccx801ig.pdf

Search for "Switching Network Deployment from LAN to WAN" - which was page 74.

Hope it helps.
