6921 bad voice quality

Hello,

I have CME upgraded to a new vesrion with 6921 phones updated to the latest software, when dialing outside calls the voice quality on the 6921 phones is very bad: we have like a distortion to the conversation, some words are not heard properly and it is only happening through the handset, if we put speaker on the voice quality becomes much better and all other phone types doesn't have this kind of problem, we replace the 6921 with a 7965 and voice quality becomes better.

Are all 6921 phones affected? Usually if only the Handset is affected the reason is hardware. Most of the time the handset cable (or connectors).

Hello,

Yes all the 6921 phones have this issue, and even if we try to replace the handset, we still get the same problem, only when we replace the phone with another type we feel the difference.

Unfortunateley , 6921 , was out of support from July 2014 -but Have the same issue across Cluster wide deplyment .

Gone for the cmterm-69xx-SCCP-9-4-1-3SR1.cop.sgn it seems to have resolved the poor voice quailty issue , but please read the release notes -they are not accurate ,you may have to upgrade the firmware in stages ...
