7821 softkey layout

How do you move the transfer key to the first screen when connected on the layout?
Ours shows it should be 1. Hold 2. End 3 Transfer but when connected it has 1. Hold 2. Details 3. End Call

So users have to push the 4th button with 3 dots to go to the next screen then transfer.

I don't see any "Details" in the softkey layout.

Hi John,

Not for webex, for a 7821 model phone.

What @John Steele meant by Webex Calling is the calling service platform, not the application. On which type of calling service platform are you using the device?

Incorrect soft keys could be VLAN issue. Not downloading correctly from TFTP server.

To adjust the softkey layout on a Cisco 7821 IP phone and move the "Transfer" key to the first screen, you’ll need to modify the phone's Softkey Template in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Here's how you can do it:

  1. Log in to CUCM: Access the CUCM web interface with admin credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Softkey Template:

    • Go to Device > Device Settings > Softkey Template.
    • Locate the softkey template assigned to the affected phones.
  3. Edit the Template:

    • Click Copy to create a custom template if the current one is a system default (you cannot edit default templates directly).
    • Open the custom template and click Configure Softkey Layout.
  4. Adjust the Connected State Layout:

    • Under the Connected state, look at the list of active softkeys.
    • Drag and reorder the Transfer key to ensure it appears in one of the top three positions on the first screen.
    • Remove the Details softkey if it’s not needed (it might have been added unintentionally).
  5. Apply the Template:

    • Save the changes and assign the updated softkey template to the device pool or individual phones as needed.
    • Reset or restart the phones to apply the new configuration.

It is on the third selection, but on the second key of the actual desk phone it shows details instead of end call like the template shows in call manager.

Maybe it's a bug or something but I can't get it to show up, it's a simple config as I've managed call manager for over 20 years now.

We are on Call Manager version 14.0.1.13900-155

I have the same problem.

My softkey template works with all 79XX phones but not with 78XX.

Someone did resolv this issue ?

Thanks for all
