9951 phone - voice vlan connectivity lost

Hello,

I've 9951 phones that sometimes get the error LastOutOfServiceInformation=26 (close TCP due to a reconfiguration on a new voice Vlan).

I've checked the switch port status and modifications but nothing has been done that could lead to this issue. The user says it has no impact on the PC behaviour linked behind the phone. Phone is located on the LAN, close to the Cluster.

CUCM is 8.6.2

Phone firmware is sip9951.9-2-4-19

According to the logs, waht could be the reason ? DHCP renewal ? SIP fw bug ? Catalyst bug ?

Here are a few line console logs from the phone

Update phone firmware andh check again.

Yes, I've uploaded sip9951.9-3-2SR1-1 and wait for next event...

Problem still happen. Sometimes several times a day.

Any idea before a TAC request ?

JC,

By the way I regularly see (around 10 times within an hour) this message :

CDP-lldpRcvPktValidation(): pkt dropped: invalid port: -1

Not linked directly to the crash but could be a root cause ?

Hi JC,

any updates? Got the same Problem. 9951 restarting several times a day with the same error code.

Cheers

Walter

Hi,

Unfortunately no news for the moment I've opened a TAC case.

It seems - not 100% sure - that it happens more often when a PC is connected behind.

JC,

Hi Jean,

Could be hitting the bug

CSCuf93609 Bug Details

9951 loses audio on active call when link with pc port is   disconnected

Symptom:
When the cable between 9951 and the pc connected to the pc port gets   disconnected during an active call there is no audio anymore, the call stays   active.

Conditions:
Running firmware version 9.3(2)ES10 or ES12, does not happen with 9.3(2)

regds,

Hello,

I've faced this bug also (phone hangs), but as far as the vlan lost issue is concerned I'm already running 9-3-2SR1-1 and I still have the problem.

Thanks anyway.

Ok, thanks.

I'll try to set the Admin Vlan ID in the phone settings. Maybe this will help, although the CDP Info has the higher priority...

As a workaround:

Separate the PC from the Phone.

Worked for me, no reboots since then.

Cheers

Walter

This is a bug, so waiting for correction. Workaround works as indicated.
