I have PA's who have multiple line's on their phones to answer call of their managers.
If their manager is not there, they would pickup on his behalf to take a message. when they pickup their line selection remains to be the managers line, so when they next make a call it appears as if it's coming from the manager.
how can we set it to default to the users Line1?
thanks
PS. we are using CUCM 8.6

Hi.
I guess they have a shared line with their manager, so you can configure their first line as private line and the second as shared line with the manager.

Hi there,
I'll just add a note to the good tips from my friend Carlo (+5)
It sounds like this Firmware bug/enhancement
With 89XX/ 99XX phones the line focus remains with last used line
Symptom:
89XX and 99XX phones have different behaviour than 79XX phones in selecting
lines when going offhook to initiate a new call.
79XX always selects the first line configured
89XX/99XX always selects the last used line
Conditions:
89XX/99XX phones with mutiple lines and configured

Thanks, i've implemented this as a temp solution. With regards to 'known fixed releases', is this a software version for the phone itself or call manager version?
if for the phone - how do i get my phones to download this version? do i need a new device pack?
Thanks.
