Hi,
CUCM 8.6.2.21900-5
Cisco IP 7962
I wondering if there is a way to configure the Cico IP Phone to answer a incoming call only using the phone buttons, even you on hook the hand-set.
Example:
Incoming call -> on hook handset -> The calls is still un answered -> press the answer button or the line button to answer call.
I've been looking around on CUCM admin guides and phone guides. I know I can use a headset to do that but the customer for some reason wants to do it with the handset.
Thanks!!!!

Hi there,
Is the customer concerned about answering the wrong line by accident
when picking up the Handset on the 7962's??
If so you can leverage this setting in CUCM that would offer what
they are asking for lines 2-6 Line 1 will always be able to be answered
by just picking up the Handset, there is no parameter that can be changed
to prevent that behavior.
The setting that controls this in CUCM is called
Always use Prime Line (set to Enable)
This can be set on the device page or on a Cluster-wide basis
Cheers!

hello,
you can use soft key template and create Answer Call button.
any time call comes and users can press that key to answer it.
please rate if this helps.
thanks

Thanks for the answer, but the user wants to answer a call pressing a button after picking up the handset. Creating a new button will not solve that.
