Running into a strange issue with barge and 8851 phones.
I have privacy turned off, BIB turned on and assigned the barge softkey to the softkey template (on all phones with that shared DN). When there is an active call on the shared line, I hit that line on my phone but I don't see the merge softkey. I have reset the phones multiple times as well.
I am able to get cbarge to work though (in this case I assign the cbarge key to the template).
Has anyone seen this issue before?

Hi,
Is the Barge option checked on the Feature Control Policy assigned to the IP phone on cucm.

Hi,
Can you check the Settings > Preferences > Barge Alert or Merge Alert setting on the 8851 Physical phone and see if it is ON.

Can you please post in more detail were the Settings > Preferences > Barge Alert or Merge Alert setting on the 8851 Physical phone is.
For Example
Device -> Phone
Device -> Device Settings
Settings is not a menu option. A picture would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Manish,
I've the same problem. The option is checked on "Feature Control Policy".
But I do not see a way to apply it on Cisco 8851 device profile.
Could you help?

Lajith

Hi,
Merge feature shows on the phone with the following configuration;
Phone Softkey Template:-
Select a call state to configure - 'In Use Remotely'
Add below options:
- Conference Barge (cBarge)
- Barge (Barge)
Phone Configuration:-
Privacy - Off
On Physical Phone device:-
Phone Setting >> Merge Alert - Change to On

I did this originally but when I hit merge I get "unable to setup conference." This is because the MRGL does not have a conference resource. If I add a CFB resource in the MRGL then it works. What I want is to use the built-in-bridge to barge, and not a conference resource.

What is the firmware on the phones? Can you try upgrading it?
