Good day,
I am pretty new to CUCM, and am trying to figure out how to block ALL outbound calls for a single DN - essentially make it so the phone assigned to that DN can only receive calls. I've played around with CSS/Partitions as I think the solution lies somewhere in there, but can't quite get it to work. I am running CUCM 12.5.1. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

You can create a specific partition, let’s call it BLOCKALL_PT. Now create a CSS named BLOCKALL_CSS and put this PT into that CSS. Next create a translation pattern that matches any dialled directory number, if you use E164 DNs you could match on \+! and if you have DNs in another format you could use ! as the match. On this TP set the action to block the call, with whatever block cause as you want to use. As a last step put this CSS on the device or the directory number. This should effectively block any calls made from the phone.

Just remove the CSS on the device and directory number configuration in CM. This will block the device from making any calls as long as you do not have anything in the “none” partition. That’s something that you normally should not have, so if you do it would be advisable to change that.

Roger,
That makes sense to me. Unfortunately, all other phones on our CUCM are in the "none" partition (our system was set up by another group of people who evidently just wanted an extremely bare-bones setup). I will begin planning to migrate all other phones over to a properly configured partition as is best-practice, but in the meantime is there another way I could go about this?
Thanks.
