Hi guys,

We have a few users requesting CFA from their 2nd line on 8941 phone (running latest firmware), however the softkey never show up. From Cisco 8945 doc , it says :

Call Forward All

Call Forward All allows you to forward calls from any line on your phone to another number.

I also find out for 99XX model,  CFA from 2nd line works fine.

I know that user can login webpage user option to do it , but prefer to have a softkey for them.

Anyone know is this a bug or defect ?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Yang

Hi - As far as I know you can do call forward all for the primary line only from the CFwdAll softkey. For the secondary line it has to be done from either CCM User page or an admin can do that.

This has been the case from very early versions of the CUCM 3.X onwards. There has been an enhancement\feature request with Cisco on this  and I believe it's not yet sorted and not available on public domain as far as I know. The BUG ID is

  • CSCdr03425 (registered customers only) —AVVID: Allow additional line appearances to be forwarded from phone.

Its mentioned at the bottom of below page:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-callmanager/43581-database-unreachable.html

There's also a document published on the Cisco web site about this which still holds true:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-callmanager/100304-cfwdall-softkey.html

Came across this post as well from Rob mentioning a third party product that's available for this purpose in case there are pressing need to achieve this.

Hope that helps.

do you select your second line first?  after that check on your phone's display which softkeys are available.

Hi Dennis ,

Thanks for your reply , I have tested with selecting primary first then switch to 2nd and 2nd first then primary. Every time under primary line, CFA softkey does come up, but never does the 2nd line.

[+5] to Terry and Dennis for providing info and troubleshooting tips.

Hi Yang,

you can look into the bug which says

CFwdAll does not work for Secondary lines from Softkey
CSCdx37915
CallForwardAll button does not work for secondary line appearances from the phone
"CFwdAll" softkey on a multiline appearance phone. Pressing the secondary line
appearance button followed by the CFwdAll softkey yields a reorder tone.
Primary line appearance can be forwarded just fine. Additionally, the secondary
line appearances can be forwarded by the end user from the ccmuser page.

Workaround: Use the ccmuser page for the CFwdAll funtionality.

Hello Terry ,

Thanks for your information , I believe this happens to most of Cisco IP Phones (69xx 79xx 89xx)except 99XX.

BTW, like you mentioned , our workaround used to be adding a Spectralink Wireless phone to share both number and call forward from there.

If this is starting from CUCM 3, I won't expect Cisco can fix it :)

Not sure why the developers would take that long to add that in it the code.

Anyways if you have no more questions please mark the thread an answered and please do rate helpful posts.
