CCIE Written Re-certify

Fantas
Level 1
Level 1

Hi,

I needs to re-certify my existing exam. I have CCIE SP LAB exam and now want to re-certify this with CCIE Security.

I failed in my first attempt two days ago due to selection of different track (CCIE DC) and less timeframe.

Can I sit for CCIE Sec written exam after two days of first attempt.

In PearsonView I am able to book it as its not stopping me but not sure if cisco allows this.

Here is the cisco Document says :

Retaking Exams

The policies for retaking exams are as follows:

  • Candidates who fail an Associate, Professional, or Specialist exam must wait a period of five (5) calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before they may retest for the same exam.
  • Candidates who fail any CCIE or CCDE written exam must wait for a period of 15 calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before retaking the same exam.
  • Once passed, a candidate must wait a minimum of 180 days before taking the same exam with an identical exam number.
  • Candidates who violate these policies are in violation of the agreement. Such conduct is strictly prohibited as described in the Cisco Certification and Confidentiality Agreement.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi,

Yes it says if retake the same exam as below but what about if we go with different track.

If its not allowed  then how I can able to book it through Pearson.

"Candidates who fail any CCIE or CCDE written exam must wait for a period of 15 calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before retaking the same exam"

My understanding is that if you are taking different CCIE track written exam there is no wait time.
