We recently removed the voicemail boxes for our users. However, now when a user is unavailable the caller gets an automated message saying something along the lines of "Hello, Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System. From a touch tone telephone you may dial an extension at any time, for a directory of extensions press 4, otherwise hold for the operator".
Is there a way of changing this message so that it informs the caller that the user is unavailable or even a way of completely removing this message so that the caller gets a unavailabe/engaged tone? If so, how do I go about doing this?
you can change the default greeting by replacing; Call Management > System Call Handlers > Opening Greeting > Edit > Greetings > Standard but it, not the best practice and not recommended . Alternatively, you can achieve similar by below steps; 1. Create a new call handler and associated voice-enabled Directory Handler. 2. Record your own greeting 3. Set this as your default for routing within CUC.
