I have multiple 8832s that pulled a bad firmware version which essentially stops the phone from registering. When I go try to factory reset these devices, nothing happens. Factory reset is never initialized as described in the manual.
I hold the # key, the LED bar turns white then shuts off, I release #, press 123456789*0#, there's no visual indication that that sequence does anything, and the phone boots like it usually does.
What's going on here? Why doesn't this standard sequence work with this model?

Look at the thread user have same issue and it was resolved.

I looked at that thread extensively. There's no explanation as to why the factory reset procedure didn't work for some users. The only resolution was booting from the inactive firmware.

Could be a bug.
The best way is to force the phone to boot the back-up firmware.
