Dear All,
We are newbie ini Cisco Unified Communication Manager and Cisco IP Phone-6921 IP Telephony.
We have success register Cisco IP Phone CP-6921 to Cisco Unified Communication Manager and make call between CP-6921.
We have problem when we want use conference feature, when we have active call with another CP-6921 and then we press conference button on CP-6921 to make a new call.
After our call is answered, we press soft button with conference display on our CP-6921 but on out CP-6921 display message "Unable to setup conference"
Note:
CP-6921 using SIP 9.1.1.0. for this time using 1 line
Cisco Unified Call Manager system version: 8.5.1.10000-26 (demo mode)
On Cisco Unified Call Manager Administration - Device - Phone, for CP-6921 (CP-6921.png, CP-6921_1.png and CP-6921_2.png)
Phone button template:Standard 6921 SIP
Common Phone Profile: Standard Common Phone Profile
Presense Group: Standard Presence Group
Device Securoty Profile: Cisco 6921 - Standard SIP Non-Secure Profile
SIP Profile: Standard SIP Profile
For Another configuration we use Default
Our question:
- How to make line2 on CP-6921 using same directory number at line1?
- What cause CP-6921 cannot use for conference? How to solve it.
We hope you can help us to solve it.
Thanks For Your Attention

You can't, at most you can configure the same DN in a different partition and then configure CFB/CFNA for cascading.
For conference check your MRGL and make sure there's a CFB in there

Dear javalenc,
Thanks for information that you give to us. We have check MRGL (Media Resource Group List) and CFB (Conference Bridge) not in list.
On Media Resource > Conference Bridge, We found 2 list in Conference Bridge with status and ip address "unknown"
We want to excuse if we wrong meant MRGL as Media Resource Group List and CFB as Conference Bridge, because this is first time we configure Cisco Unified Communication Manager
Our question:
How to setting confrence using Cisco Unified Communication Manager that can use for CP-6921?
We hope you can give us information about it
Thanks For Your Attention

Yes, you got the MRGL and CFB correct. You'll see we abbreviate a lot of stuff so you need to get used to it.
Start by going to serviceability and
A) make sure IPVMS (IP Voice Media Streaming) service is running, if not, enable it and start it
B) If it's running try restarting it.
C) Try resetting the CFBs
That's the service that handles the CFB.

Dear Javalenc,
Thanks for information that you give to us. We have checked IPVMS and it by default isn't activated. We have activate IPVMS and now CFB has status registered.
We have try make conference call use device CP-6921 like this:
1. Call another CP-6921 (ext:1001). After another CP-6921 with ext:1001 answer, we press Conference button on CP-6921
2. Call another CP-6921 (ext:1002). After another CP-6921 with ext:1002 answer, we press softbutton with display Conf
The result: Conference Call ended
We have try create MRG (media-conf) and then add MRG to MRGL (conference-test), attach MRGL to device - Phone (
at Media Resource Group List section)
. The result is same as before (Conference Call ended)
If we check on Line1 of CP-6921, we found like this
Maximum Number of Calls and Busy Triggers per Line are: | |
Maximum Number of Calls | 2 |
Busy Trigger " | 1 |
Our Question:
What is missing in our configuration?
We hope you can help us for this.
Thanks For Your Attention

Hello,
SIP load 9.2.2 for 69xx allows you to change the Max Call & Busy Trigger parameters. This way, your conferences will work.

Dear Julien.lefloch,
We want give you information that we have upgrade sip for 6921 on CUCM from 9.1.1 to 9.2.4.3. After CP-6921 using SIP firmware 9.2.4.3. We check on CUCM Device>Phone and find that Max Call & Busy Trigger parameters still cannot edited.

Dear Javalenc,
We want give you information that conference on CP-6921 can work after we change System > Server from name to IP Address. After using IP Address on Server, Conference Bridge status registered.
We have associate Conference Bridge on MRG, assoiciate MRG to MRGL and then using MRGL on Device Phone. After we do it, CP-6921 can use for conference.
Thanks For Your Attention and Help
