Hi,

I believe you just touched the sweet spot of Cisco Collaboration.

I will try to do justice to your questions.

Spark is a full blown cloud based Messaging system (Meetings, Chat and Call).

Spark has been built to be as the working place for a team

(You have concept of Teams and Rooms in Spark).

Spark is extensible unlike jabber and offers a powerful API.

With persistent chat your work/chat/content gets saved in the Room or 1:1 .

Unlike Jabber you can leave message even if the person is offline.

Because not all customers can go on Cloud Cisco offers Spark Hybrid Services.

Demonstration. (This is where your call manager comes into the picture)

For now Spark is not a replacement for Jabber. Jabber is more of a 1:1.

Thanks for your explanation,

Can I say spark is alternative product for CUCM basicly  spark working on cloud ip phone can directly register it via internet but i could not understand Can I provide sip trunk  on spark for my voice gateway .It seem not possible.

Another things spark does not need MTP.

Can you please give me more much information.

Are there any spark design guide available ?

I would not say its an alternative for CUCM rather put it as an integral part of Hosted solution.

Not exactly a design guide but the document gives you a high level view of Hybrid Spark Service.

Whether it needs MTP or not totally depends on the call flow.

Hi Kemal,

SPARK is not an alternative to CUCM like Adarsh mentioned but lets just say the Spark architecture does not have Call manager. Spark has its own call connector software to manage calls and registration. To answer the second part, you can make use of the " Call service aware" & "Call ServiceConnect" where the Spark client shares the extension with your desk phone. It is somewhat similar to Jabber's CTI deskphone control. Spark cloud uses CTI protocol to communicate with the CTI manager service on CUCM to control the deskphone.
