CME 8.6 Voicemail Transfer issue

Barry Richey

hi all,

wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction regarding a voicemail transfer issue i am experiencing.

customer has a small CME deployment 1 receptionst and around 5 other individual users.

the Receptionst (ephone 7) has her own line but also on the spare line buttons she has other users lines in the event the users are out of the office so she can pickup there calls.

the problem i am having is that when she answers one of these other lines and then wishes to transfer them to that indiviuals voicemail she cant as she is in effect already on that line

im thinking there must be a better way to configure this on the Receptionst phone to enable her to still answer the users direct dials but enable her to transfer to that users ext which will then follow there call-forward noan action

suggestions greatly appreciated

Have her transfer to VM number.

If that doesn't work, there is another config to transfer any call directly to any VM box.

paolo,

thanks again for the pointer

i configured the cme to directly transfer the call to unity express voicemail

firstly i created a DN in CME which points to the voicemail pilot number 8000

!

ephone-dn  22

number 7....

description ***dial 7 then ext number 4vmail

call-forward all 8000

i then connected to the CUE and configured each user with a phonenumberE164 with the users extension prefixed with a 7

!

username XXXX phonenumberE164 "73923"

username XXXX phonenumberE164 "73920"

username XXXX phonenumberE164 "73922"

username XXXX phonenumberE164 "73921"

when a call now comes in on one of the DDI's and the receptionist answers the call and wishes to transfer to that users voicemail she presses transfer then 7 followed by the users extension number

As an alternative to configuring an additional phonenumberE164 for each user, you can add a voice translation-profile under

CUE DP, that strips leadning 7 from redirecting number.

You can also use a softkey for transferVM.

Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!

Hi Barnaby,

Just to add a note to the great tips from my friend Paolo (+5 "P")

The steps required are nicely detailed in this good Tech Note;

Transfer a Caller Directly into a Unity Express Mailbox

I needed the "call-forward pattern .T" statement in my telephony-service part of the config for my call forward no answer to work as well as the statement "transfer-pattern 200." (where 200 was the beginning of my extension nmbers (2001, 2002, 2003,,etc). Don't know if you need this as well..Just a thought.
