HI
Ive been asked to look at a customer who has a couple of problems , the main one is that the CME GUI is empty. Its as if the GUI has only been installed- clcik on phones - no phone only add, hunt grp - only add. Im not a CME person so forgive me -more CUCM , The CME has been configured via the CLI and is working but not how they want it to be but the customer wants to use the GUI to adminstrate the system, how does the CLI configuration of the DN, Phones etc get "uploaded" to the gui. Is it becase the cme was configured only at the CLI ?
many thanks

Will this pull down the existing Configuration? I accessed log into the gui ok but there are no details of the existing Configuration which is in the sh run when accessing the cmd directly?

Hi,
If you are able to login and there is no config, try reloading the router.
FYI:

How to Configure Web on CME for GUI.
GUI Files
A tar archive contains the files that you need to use the Cisco Unified CME graphical user interface (GUI), which provides a mouse-driven interface for provisioning phones after basic installation is complete
SUMMARY STEPS
DETAILED STEPS
Step 1 Go to http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-key .
Step 2 Select the file to download.
Step 3 Download zip file to tftp server.
Step 4 Use the zip program to extract the file to be installed, then:
Router# copy tftp://x.x.x.x/P00307020300.sbn flash:
Router# archive tar /xtract tftp:///cme-gui-124-24T.tar flash:
Step 5 Verify the installation. Use the show flash: command to list the files installed in in flash memory.
Step 6 Then enable http server
ip http server
ip http authentication local
ip http path flash:/gui
telephony-service
web admin system name <abc> password <xyz>
PS: Please make GUI file is pointing to correct" as you need point file where are those located into the flash or dir.

Hi
The issue isn't that I can not used the gui or it hasn't been installed, The issue is that the contents of it are empty. If I go to phones I expect to see the devices which are configured in the cmd but the section is empty. There is a huge grp configured in the cmd but when I look for it in the gui, again it isn't seen. What is configured in the actual come, does not match what is empty in the gui for the same system
1. If you configure something via the cli of the cmd, should it appear in the gui?
2. If you configure something in the gui, should it appear in the cmd, cli via sh run?
3. Should the gui be in synch with the cme?
Thanks

1. CME GUI doesn't offer full configuration. So whatever configuration is supports should be available in GUI as per configuration made via CLI.
2. Yes
3. Yes, it will be in sync but again only for the configuration it supports through GUI.

Hello,
Can u post the "show tech". This will make it easier.
And Do not reload your router.
The basic configuration is shared by Nadeem and Manish in here.
Just make sure those 18 files are extracted and in the flash.

Kevin

The whole point of asking for show tech was so that we can check your flash and confugration.
And the output of show flash is omitted.
Please put the whole output of show tech in a .txt file.
