CME "On Hold Music" volume adjustment?

Executives are complaining the on hold music is too loud. However, they're too lazy to hit thier own volume button on their phones.

I've been asked to turn the volume down on the wav file itself. Yes, as ridiculous as that sounds, it's true.

So my question is, can this be done at the router level?

Not possible. You need to edit the audio file in an audio editor.

Hi,

I found a thread that may be able to help you. The following download has the MOH files recorded at three different volume levels, maybe one will appease the bosses:

Download Software for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express : moh.zip

You can't change the actual volume when its on the router.

Thanks guys, I didn't think there was any way to change the modulation of an existing wav.

David, are there any licensing issues regarding the wavs? Are they royalty free?

My guess is that if you have the proper access to download it from Cisco (which is based upon your entitlements), you're good to go.

If you want to get real fancy, you can set up different moh groups with different MOH volumes:

I've always thought that the Cisco MOH was pretty crazy, not crazy good or bad necessarily

but just kind of different. The licensing royalties are covered so many people have used it

over the years. I thought you might enjoy this thread which talks about the composers who
