Hi,

i tried to connect it as SCCP and it works.but as i mentioned before it fail to register as sip.

i look to the Sdi logs from the call manager to see why it can't register and it gaves me the below error

dBProcs - device SEPXXXXXXXXX not found in the database

when i tried to add it as a sip i did the following:

1. create a End user

2. add a third party sip phone (Basic)

3. associate the phone to the End user.

Can you help me on this.

Thanks,

Abbas

Cisco CallManager supports Nokia E71 phone as SCCP client, not SIP.

Thanks irisios for your post.

But i already configure it as sip and it works fine.

and cisco call manager support Nokia E71 to be defined as sip or sccp.

sccp is easier to configure but sip is supported with call manager 6

Thanks again

Abbas

What was the problem?

I'm trying it with E51 and E61i neither works :(

Hi acidburn82,

Sorry for the late Response. below is the steps for adding Nokia E-series as SIP phone on the CUCM

on the CUCM:

1. Create new Device Security profile and check the Enable Digest Authentication checkbox.

2. Change the Realm String to one u know.

3. Add a new Third Party SIP phone (Basic) use the previously Created Device Security Profile

4. Create the needed line for the phone.

5. Add a End user. configure the Digest Credentials same as the PIN.

6. Associate the sip phone to this user.

On the Phone side.

1. Create a SIP profile.

2. Define access point u will use to activate the sip phone.

3. define the public user name as sip:User@

4. Keep Use Compression and Security to NO.

5. Configure the Proxy server as sip:

6. Enter the new Realm

7. Enter the username and Password for the User. and keep the rest of the configuration to default.

8. Repeat step 5-7 for the Registration Server.

9. finally return to the SIP profile configuration and change the registration to always on.

Hope this will help you.

Abbas

Hi all,

Thanks for the procedure. I used it and it worked.

Just one thing, when I have a missed call from one of the Nokia SIP phone users, in the missed calls directory, I find missed call from extension@CUCM_IP_Address (ex. 1234@10.10.10.1).

Is there a way to hide the CUCM IP Address?

Yes, add it to Nokia's contacts and it will show up as a missed call from the contact person.

But I've an another question. My Nokia is configured with the same number as my table phone. So, when there's an incoming call both of my phones are ringing. If I answer the call on my Nokia, then everything's OK, there's no missed call on my cisco, but when I answer the call on my cisco, then Nokia is having 1 new missed call. Are there any possibilities to disable or reconfigure it, that if I answer the call on my Cisco my Nokia phone somehow understands it and doesn't leave a missed call?

Hi,

I made all configuration on CUCM and SIP Phone (Nokia E66).

But third party SIP Phone is not register to CUCM.

DHCP was not configured on the system.

Nokia E66 doesn't have any IP Address. Besides, is it neccessary to configure any access point configuration about SIP Phone registered.

Thanks..

Hello,

I configured the same procedure ;

on the CUCM:

On the Nokia E66, I connected to Cisco UCM by using the AP. However, the phone is not still registered to CUCM.

May I upload any fimware files (to be related to Nokia) on the CUCM?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

You don't have to add anything to CUCM, the Nokia Phone is registered as a Cisco 7960 or 7970 phone.

Don't forget those settings on the Nokia Phone itself :

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> SIP Settings

Profile name : any name you want
Service Profile : IETF
Public Username : sip:@
Use Compression : no
Use Security : no

Registrar Server Address : sip:
Realm : ccmsipline
User Name :
Password :
Transport : UDP

Port : 5060

Good luck !
