CP-7821-3PCC-9K admin password

Hello,

i'm having the following issue. I bought a CP-7821-3PCC-9K and wanted that he is loading the profile of our provider. Plugged it in via POE, open status to see the IP and opened via Browser http://IP/admin/advanced and changed the Upgrade Rule and Profile Rule like the provider tutorial said. Seems something doesn't worked and after i while i would proof all settings again, but now the Web OS want a password (for User or Admin -> Dropdown). I don't set any password, i tried "cisco" and "Cisco" or MAC Adress or let it empty, but now i don't get access to admin advanced settings. The provider firmware isn't loaded (still showing sip78xx.11-0.0MMP-7). I've done a factory reset over the menu and also via keyboard (unplug POE - wait - hold # - press 123456789*0#) but it now still wants a password for admin advance.

Have anybody an idea, what i could do?

Hi there,

Once the phone downloads the config file from the provider, it will probably (most times) change the admin password.

Please request help from the provider in order to get the phone provisioned.

Can you share what guide you've followed?

If you manage to successfully factory reset using the hard key combination, you should be able to access the phone. Try the same process again.

Problem is he doesn't download firmware, it's still the default one.

The config i couldn't load, cause requirement is the specific firmware. I tried to see wether the admin password is always same but it isn't (checked the other 2 or 3 accounts having a CP-7821).

I gonna try to do 2-3 resets successively, but i think i already tried this.  Also tried to upgrade firmware via browser command and tftp-server but seems the missing password prevented this.

The "guide" u can find here at the end of this page.

Hi there,

According to the guide your shared, the pre-req is that you run at least 11.1.1 firmware.

You're running 11.0.0.

Please try to factory reset using the sequence key and upgrade locally, before following the instructions.

I know the sequence key might not always work.. but keep trying

How i can upgrade locally? What i read is that is also in admin/advanced where i didn't get in cause he wants a password. I tried 3 factory resets by using sequence in a row but still admin password

Which steps are you following?

Step 1 Unplug the phone's LAN cable.
Step 2 Wait 5 seconds.
Step 3 Press and hold # button while plugging the phone back in.
Step 4 Release the # button when the light on the handset blinks red 2 times
Step 5 Press 123456789*0# in sequence.

After you press these buttons, the phone goes through the factory reset process.

If you press the buttons out of sequence, the phone powers on normally

You can upgrade it locally using tftp, http or directly using the action url

I had the same problem. When I connect  https://IP/ to it connects but not the https://IP/admin/advanced though as Im getting the same prompt to enter password. Nothing worked for the password. What I had to do is delete the device from Webex calling then factory reset the phone again. Once come up the phone is now unprovisioned to Webex, I needed to change the URL with http only so it would be http://IP/admin/advanced. It will not prompt any password at all if its deleted in Webex. I also ran into an issue where it allows me to access http://IP/admin/advanced for a while until the phone reboots itself and tries to connect to Webex even though we are already unprovisioned to Webex. So what I had to do is quickly upgrade the phone after I factory reset and not let the phone have a chance to connect to the internet.

Hope this helps.

The method that worked for me is applying an access control list to the port the phone is on to block internet access. In my case I was able to access /admin/advanced without providing a password to update a profile rule. After saving the change I rebooted the phone, and the change took effect.
