Hi Wilson,

If I understand your question correctly, here is what you need to do

If the phone in question had a MAC of AAABBBCCCDDD and you wanted to

change/delete the phone MAC without losing the line config;

Device> Phone> Find> Device name "contains"> AAABBBCCCDDD then replace

AAABBBCCCDDD with any fake (or real) MAC for reference like BBBCCCDDDAAA >Save

You should be good to go. The line config will remain intact.

Cheers!

Hi Wilson.

Just to add an info to what Rob(+5P Rob) suggested you.

Remember also that when you remove an IP Phone from the CUCM, the Directory Number will remain in the CUCM DB and you can find it as unassigned number in the route plan report.

Hi Wilson.

That happens because when you remove the ip phone, the cucm doesn't know the status of the ip phone (Registered, unregistered etc) so call forward option doesn't work  anymore.

You can build a standalone DN without having it tied to a physical device.

Hi Wilson,

Let's use an actual number for an example to work with

So, in our original post we had phone with MAC AAABBBCCCDDD and let's

also say it had DN 2222. If the phone is not registered (unknown) you may see that

calls to 2222 may still route calls due to the Call Forward Unregistered setting on the DN page.

Once we remove the phone @ AAABBBCCCDDD the DN 2222 will still exist unless

it's removed via Call Routing> Route Plan report> Unassigned DN> Find 2222> Delete selected.

If that has not been done we can find DN 2222 via Call Routing> Directory Number> Find 2222

and this is where you can make it "Active" again by using the checkbox as nicely suggested

by Nirmal. Once you make it Active again you can use the Call Forward All setting to route

calls to a defined number.

Cheers!

Hi Guys,

I did the question of wrong way. I am having the following problem. Example: The MAC AAABBBCCCDDD IP Phone 79xx appear in status unkmown, but, when the call for the number xxxxxxx, the call redirect for Translation Pattern yyyyyy and the call is completed. When I removed the MAC, the call is not completed and I am understand why this behavior.

Thanks,

Wilson

Wilson,

see the attached image. Make sure that you tick 'active' radio button in the DN page, which is not assigned to any device.
