CUCM integration with hosted PBX

Hi Team,

     one of our customer requires their cucm  (BE6S platform) to integrate with a hosted PBX. the hosted PBX supports SIP trunk and they will provide the server address, username and password for the SIP trunk.

      Please advise  on the recommended solution here, can I create a SIP trunk on CUCM to communicate the server on should I go for a SBC to connect the server.

You might be able to make this work with a SIP trunk directly from CUCM to the 3rd party PBX depending on codec requirements, etc. However, CUBE does offer some additional benefits such as transcoding of codecs if necessary, security (CUCM is not directly open to the outside) and scalability.
