CUCM Migrating MCS to UCS

Hello

We are migrating the pub and 1 sub to UCS and had a question about the sub.

Do we need to do a DRS of the sub and restore or can we just build the subscriber with same hostname and IP address and let the DB rebuild?

No, simply install it and attach to the restored PUB.

DB replication won't copy across updated firmware files, custom backgrounds, ringtones, etc. So if the sub runs the TFTP service, you'll need to manually put them all back.

You might also run into problems with certificates as well - especially if you're running CUCM 8+.

In general, I'd recommend doing a proper backup/restore.

We went ahead and rebuilt the sub without the DR and everything seems to be fine. I have seen mixed posts to do or do not DRS so just wanted to make sure.
