Hi All,
I'm using the Quick User/Phone Add to setup DN's and UDP's for my AD users. I add the DN OK then progress to the 'Manage Devices' page. I click add and fill in the information and click the 'Add Phone' button. This gives me the following error:
Add failed. One of the required fields on the page has the same value as an entry that already exists in the database. Please check the corresponding Find List page to verify your entry does not exist. (Screen shot below)
However if I 'OK' the error and refresh my page I can see that the device had been added successfully. I have tried adding different device types and using different templates but I still get the same error.
Any idea's? Cosmetic bug?
CUCM v11.0.1
Thanks

Hi Matty,
I have seen this issue being reported in some TAC cases but no bug documented for the same. This definitely looks cosmetic but if you want this to be investigated you may engage TAC and they can collect required logs to see if this requires a new defect to be filed. One thing you may want to try is to use different browsers and see if all of them give the same result.

Hi Manish,
I have seen browser issues when creating the devices templates using Internet Explorer, it complains about mandatory fields not being completed, and does not appear to add IP Phone Services! Whereas Firefox works fine.
However I see this particular issue in both IE and Firefox.
Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
I will open a TAC case if I have enough time in this project.

Matty,
Did you open a TAC case for this? I have the same issues (and so have my customers)
I have told my customers to live with it, because as you already mentioned, the device is added perfectly and works perfectly. But it is rather annoying to tell customers that they should ignore the error on such an expensive product.

Hi JH,
No, I didn’t have opportunity when I was last onsite with the specific customer. Hopefully I will have chance later this month if not early February. I will post any update/outcome here for others.
It really is an ugly bug in an expensive product as you say!
Thanks
Matty

Agree with everyone here that this is a very ugly bug (still in latest 11.0.1SU1) and hopefully someone at Cisco will recognize it and resolve it and post a workaround until a fixed in version is posted. I spent almost 6 months on an active TAC case for something similar. Same error message, except that the phone never moved or was added to the user. That turned out to be based on the phone button template. The QUPA wizard creates a unique phone button template based on the MAC address of the phone. Change the button template on the device to a standard template, then delete the corresponding mac-address named button template and it works fine.
