disabling OPUS codec effects?

i have a customer with cucm v12 and a recording solution and phones connected through S2S vpn to his cucm , the recording solution vendor saw through wireshark that the s2s vpn phones are using OPUS codec which isnt supported for recording and they requested to disable it , would it have any effect if i disable it through service parameter? im using default pool and default region settings

Hello,

I realize this post is a bit old, but you should be fine to disable the OPUS CUCM Service Parameter as long as the phones support other codecs (such as G.711 or G.729) and the CUCM region & location settings allow for these other codecs. 

Calls to Webex PMR rooms and MRA clients could also be using OPUS, so be sure to double-check before disabling!

Hello,

I would add that disabling opus codec should not cause you any issue, actually you may find in Community cases where disabling Opus is suggested.
