Hi,

If you have no plans to use DNS, then you could create 2 (or more) Extension Mobility service entries for all phones to use. Each entry pointing to a different CUCM node, ideally setting the name different so users understand why there are two listed (i.e. Primary and Backup)

The following Cisco document covers the configuration of Extension Mobility:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmfeat/fsem.html

Hello Kiran,

You can use the IP address of the server that runs the ext mob service, not required to use the DNS name if you don't need redundancy between 2 servers. I've seen people configure 2 different services with 2 different IP addresses when they can not use DNS for whatever reason, not transparent for the end-users but it's a possibility.

See this document that will help and explains it step by step:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080a80386.shtml

Hi Kiran,

You can configure two EM services pointing to two different nodes in a cluster on which EM service is runnning.

Secondly, u can use Server Load balancer with a virtual IP address pointing to two real IP addresses of CUCM servers on which EM is running.

There are many resources online on how to configure EM. Please look here

On EM failover/redundancy if you dont have a DNS server, then you will need a load balancer. If you dont have either then you cant configure EM failover
