Firewall Port between IP Phone and Gateway

Hi All,

We have a network setup like IP Phone and Voice Gateway are in separate network, and their network gateway is the sub-interface of Firewall. Which port should be open between IP Phone and Voice Gateway for External (PSTN) calls?

I have gone through the below document, but I couldn't find the port matrix between IP Phone and Voice Gateway.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/port/9_1_1/CUCM_BK_T2CA6EDE_00_tcp-port-usage-guide-91/CUCM_BK_T2CA6EDE_00_tcp-port-usage-guide-91_chapter_01.html

Regards,

Shinas

Hi Mr.Balaji,

Thank You for the reply.

For External (PSTN )calls, after the calls are established, how RTP packets are send? Is RTP packets sent between IP Phone and Voice Gateway?

Regards,

Shinas

Depend on your setup, how your topology, since we do not know your setup and config.

As suggested provide high level network diagram to undertstand your setup.

Dear Balaji,

Please see the diagram

Shinas

1) RTP Is send ideally between Endpoints so for PSNT Calls it is sent from VG to IP Phone directly.

VG-----rtp------------IPPhone

2) Only Exception will occur here is if MTP Is enabled then it will be send via MTP

VG--------MTP--------IPPhone

3) So you allow RTP Ports between VG and IP Phone Subnet and Between VG and CUCM Subnet as CUCM will be MTP Or if have any other Hardware MTP use that IP

Ever tried a thing called Google? A simple search for “cucm port usage” gives a number of useful suggestions, one of which is this. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/11_5_1/sysConfig/11_5_1_SU1/cucm_b_system-configuration-guide-1151su1/cucm_b_system-configuration-guide-1151su1_chapter_01010101.html
