Flex Plan and on premise software versions

Hello,

I have a new customer with 10.x releases of on premise CUCM, Unity Connection and UCCX. These were implemented by another partner and the SWSS (or ESW and UCSS as it was at the time) has expired.

The direct touch Cisco account team are urging the customer to move to a Flex Plan license agreement but it does not seem to be clear whether this can be done with the current 10.x releases used by the customer.

Can this be done or does the FlexPlan require the use of the Smart Software Licensing feature introduced in version 12.0?

Thanks

FlexPlan requires Version 12 Smart Licensing.

As long as the customer doesn’t need to add licenses (ie they just want to be supported, hopefully to plan for an upgrade), I see no issue with a Flex plan. Just leave PLM alone in that case.

Thanks for the responses. Haris do you have a link to any document that states 12.0 or later is required?

In one of the FlexPlan data sheets there is the statement below which seems to indicate tradional PAKs (and hence older versions of CUCM) are used.

On-premises licenses are delivered to you via your Smart Account. The Partner is responsible for entering your Smart Account information at the time your order is placed. Instructions for creating a Smart Account can be found here.

The on-premises software and license Product Authorization Keys (PAKs) are available through the links provided in the eDelivery email that will be sent to the email address(es) provided on the order.
