I had a faculty member who I recently converted to a 7962 from his Nortel M7208 and he was upset to find out that just like the Nortel M7208 the 7962 was not activating the t-coils in his hearing aids. After some searching on the internet I found that many modern headsets do not have enough static magnitism to activate the auto t-coils in modern hearing aids. After testing this by taping a hard drive magnet to the faculty members headset (which worked ;-) ) I bought some small cylinder magnets from Amazon and epoxyed one to the ear cup on the headset. The additional more powerful magnet activated the magnetic reed switch in his hearing aids and then the t-coils picked up the signal from the headset like a champ. Here are some background links I found on the problem.

And the magnets I bought that corrected the issue:

Hope this helps someone else out.

This is awesome. As a mostly deaf person that struggles with the T-coil issue I can appreciate your users frustration. Talking on the telephone is one of the worst experiences for a person with hearing aids. You really went the extra mile to solve this issue.
