how do I know the phone line is busy (in use) or idle from Call Manager or Device administration? the phone is in remote site.

You can't that info is not in the GUI.

If you have the web server enabled on the IP phones you can browse to the phone and see what is happening with the lines.

you mean the device information? I just look at it , but which field you would check?

You can tell by going to the phone, and then click on its IP address, then go to streaming statistic (stream1/stream2). If the phone has an active RTP stream on that page, you can seafely assume it is busy, or at least it is on a call.
