Hi,
I'm trying to configure a voice BRI in USA. In contrast to the other countries around the World, in USA the NT1 must be provided by the customer, so I'm trying to use HWIC-1B-U to configure the BRIs. The PDI has confirmed me that these cards support voice, but the voice-ports doesn't appear in the gateway, so I can't configure the voice routing using dial-peers. Did someone try to configure voice BRIs in USA?
Thanks!

Hi
Voice cards start with VIC.
WIC= WAN Interface Card
HWIC = High Speed WAN Interface Card
Sounds like PDI are having an 'off' day.

Hi Aaron,
That's what I thought but, for instance, some PRI HWIC card can support voice in some cases like:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_4/12_4x/12_4_11xw/fmt1e1ic_voice.html#wp1058060
So I'm really confused. Take a look to the data sheet (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5949/data_sheet_c78_439537.html):
"The Cisco 1841, 1941, 2800, 3800, and 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers with the Cisco 1-Port ISDN U interface HWIC provide customers with a choice of converged platforms that offer best-of-class data, security, WAN access, and voice services in a single system".
Which card do you normally use to configure an ISDN BRI in USA?
Thanks!

I've seen this thread from 2009:

Is this answer still valid today?

You need VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE, and PVDM2 modules.
Nothing else will work for voice.
