How to use External Call Control Profile with Hunt Pilot in CUCM

Hello all,

I'm using Hunt Pilot to use common voicemail in CUCM12.5.

I want to use the External Call Control Profile, but found that it is not available on the Hunt Pilot.

Is there any alternative?

Thanks in advance.

What you are trying to achieve with ECCP on hunt pilot.

Thank you for your reply.

I use the Hunt Pilot to ring all the phones when I receive a call(incoming).

I use it to convert phone numbers to carrier IDs.

I have already created an application using ECCP.

AFAIk it can be applied on Line settings. apply it on Line group member's line page.

I use a common voice mail so that if there is no response for 10 seconds, it will be forwarded automatically.

Can this be set in a line group?

Hunt group setting will override line forwarding settings. So line forwarding setting will not work. You need to do the Forward settings  on  Hunt Pilot.

Does that mean I can't use the External Call Control Profile on Hunt Pilot?

I'm using CM v14 and it looks like if a call comes via a hunt-group, the ECCP attached to the line doesn't get invoked. If I call the line directly I can see the HTTP POST towards the webserver.

I see the comment above about call forwards on lines getting ignored when calls arrive via a hung-group, but I guess we should add External Call Control to that list.

Seems like Cisco doesn't document this stuff.

It turns out a third party (Imagicle) added a note about this in their config guides:

Warning: The Directory Number ECC profile is triggered only for incoming calls (i.e. calls that ring on that DN). Besides, calls routed to the DN by an Hunt pilot do not trigger the ECC profile call.

You would think Cisco could easily have a warning on their DN page...they already know the DN is a line-group member.

The (not great) workaround would be to have a translation pattern in front of the hunt-group and attach the ECCP there instead, but this may or may not be suitable.

Hello Nithin,
We also have the same problem. (Version 11.5)
For example, when the number 999999 calls to our office, it connects to Unity Connection Administration
Then the user enters, for example, number 3 (Hunt) and is connected to the corresponding number, for example, 353. And the phones of the relevant users ring.
In ECCP we only see the connection to Unity Connection Administration.
And connection 353 to colleagues' phones is not sent to ECCP.
