Hi
I setup some hunt pilots to forward unanswered calls to a voicemail user in Unity. I then setup on the regulars persons message waiting indacator that is assigned the primary number for the phone that voicemail number.
So in my example the primary extension is 201
The Support Hunt Pilot leaves messages in voicemail box 5011.
The MWI for 5011 has been added and enabled to 201.
This causes the MWI to light up for extension 201.
How does the person retrieve the voicemail for 5011 and is there a way to know if the MWI is for 201 or 5011?
Thank You,
Mark

Hi
In terms of accessing the VM, just press the messages key on the handset, press *, then enter the voicemail mailbox number and pin.

Hi Barry
I understood that we could do that but the problem is the notification the user could have their own mailbox and 2 others that they would have assigned to their MWI and they wouldn't know which one had the message. I'm thinking voicemail to e-mail is the best solution for these messages unless someone has a better ideal on how to handle these with the phone.
Thanks

Hi Mark,
I'll just jump in to add a note to the good ideas from my friend Barry (+5 "B")
I think the original "main" user complaint will be that they can't differentiate
when a message has been left for their number or the Hunt Pilot
as you nicely noted and that the inherant problem with Alternate MWI
Here's what I would do.
Our example creates a new line @ 255 but it can be any random
unused number;
Then, add a second line (255) to the user phone
and then set the Hunt Pilot DN as an Alternate Extension on this new line so the
Red MWI Lamp would be lit when a message is left
So, the he Hunt Pilot number is 5011 and the newly created second line DN is 255.
Move the existing mailbox for 5011 to 255 with 5011 now set as an Alternate Extension. When the call routes through to CUC via the Hunt Pilot No Answer CUC should see the CLID of 5011 which will then be connected to the Mailbox on 255.
Then tweak the Message Lamp Setting in CUCM for the second Line 255 appearance;
For the second Line Setting on (each phone)-
Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device
Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt
The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Second lines on the phone and
the user will be able to tell which line the message has been left for by seeing the
flashing envelope icon beside the related line button. The user will also be able to directly
access the Hunt Pilot messages via the new 255 line button.
Cheers!

Hi Rob
Let me give this a try, I already had setup a second line on the phone to correspond with the Hunt Pilot so for a certain line group is the main line extension was 201 I setup 101 for for the hunt pilot and for main line 204 this was 104.
So in this scenario I would need to create call manager users and corresponding Unity voice mail users so that I could have each user get notification on the new voicemails?
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Good stuff!
So you just need to move away from the alternate MWI thought
and go to the alternate extension idea. Move the VM box from the hunt pilot
DN to the DN on the phone and then set the hunt pilot as the alternate extension
in each example and you should be good to go
Cheers!
