I want to clean out "Flash:"?

I'd like to clean up Flash:
I don't want to delete the BIN files
Can I delete just the crashinfo files?
The crashinfo seems really old. I can't think that I need them...
Can I delete using wild cards?

Yes you can delete just the crash files. If you do delete /f flash:crashinfo* it will delete all crash files and not ask for confirmation per file.

My co-worker says for his network switches there is a clean command that will find all the unused files and delete them.

Because routers and switches are running IOS-XE and this OS have built-in scripts to remove unused package files when invoked.

VG3x0s and VG450s are classic IOS and they do not have this script.  It is a manual process to clean up classic IOS for unwanted file(s).

And "delete flash:<filename>" allows you to delete any file you would like.

Hi Maren, is there a command that will clean all the unused files?

Is there such a command for voice gateways? I have VG3x0s and VG450s at this time.

On switches and some newer routers there are two different modes of how IOS can be installed/updated, bundle and install mode. In install mode you can use a command to remove unused files. AFAIK this doesn’t exist on VGs.

The syntax with the other commands was not quite correct to clean out all the files from just the crashinfo folder.

Use:  delete /f flash:/crashinfo/*

This command cleared out all the old crashinfo log files out of the crashinfo directory for me.
